July has gotten off to a fun start here! Not only is it a fun start, but how is it we’re 5 days into the month already?
Ok, so maybe July actually got off to a sleepy start… First, Chase told me he was tired and was going to lay down in his bed. Who am I to argue with that?! Then Lily woke up early from her nap. Darn. Then it got quiet in the living room and I peeked in and saw Jackson and Tyler sound asleep on the couch. Cracked me up! They stayed like that for a good hour before they both shifted slightly. Then Lily fell asleep again.
Yes. You read that right. I had all four children asleep at the same time, for the first time! AHHHHH!! Wonder if it’ll ever happen again….
Late Friday night (really late, thanks to a flight delay in Chicago) my mother in law and sister in law arrived in town for a weekend of fun! Saturday morning the boys wasted no time and somehow talked Nick’s mom into a water fight in the backyard.
On Sunday morning I stole my sister in law, Moriah, and headed downtown for a mock Senior Pictures session. I’ve been asked several times if I’ll offer senior sessions, but I wasn’t really sure. After a fun morning with Moriah I’ve decided to go for it! You can see more of my favorites from our “session” on my Faces You Love Photography page.
As Moriah and I were dodging rain drops, the rest of the crew was arriving at the zoo. We eventually joined them there and dodged downpours for a bit before finally giving up and heading home. In between the downpours though, the boys had fun on the carousel (twice!), checking out the polar bear, playing in the Discovery Barn and watching the Sea Lion show. Lily wasn’t really impressed with any of it.
What a good sport she is, to climb onto the elephant at the request of the boys!
We had a wonderfully fun weekend and visit with them! Such a shame Moriah and Nancy couldn’t have stayed longer. Much longer.
