Traditions

Yesterday we ate a traditional Thanksgiving meal (although I wish we’d kicked ours off with lobster stew like my parents and family back “home” did!) and it was tasty, if I do say so myself.

That’s it Jackson… stuff the whole muffin in your mouth!

After dinner, Tyler took a traditional post-dinner nap on the couch.

This morning I woke bright and early, actually it was dark and early, for my annual Black Friday adventure. I braved the stores solo this time because my sister decided there wasn’t anything she needed more than sleep. What a bum. (Just kidding Laura! You know I love you :)).

My shopping started shortly after 4am, where I waited in a line at Target for nearly an hour. Oy! The last two years Target has been so organized and this Target just did not have their act together today. Thankfully, the woman in line ahead of me took pitty on my pregnant self and insisted I put my stuff in her cart while we stood in line. So sweet!

I picked up some sweet deals at Kohls, including some household things we’ve been needing and wanting (like a new toaster and a Shark Steam Mop – the last one in the store), plus I earned $20 in Kohls Cash. Gotta love it!

At Joanns I picked up a Cricut, that sadly is not for me. This one is for my sister-in-law in Maine who couldn’t get out to shop today, and when I saw the Cricut for $60 at our Joanns, I called SIL up (and woke her up I believe) to ask if she wanted me to buy it for her. She did and I think she wasn’t too mad about the early wake-up call because it involved fulling her Cricut dreams.

Toys R Us was where I wrapped up my morning and nearly finished off my Christmas shopping list. I only have one more gift and some more stockings stuffers to pick up! I was home by just after 8am. Not bad for 4 hours of shopping and I love having everything done “early” so that I can get gifts shipped (and not worry about them being late) and also just sit back and enjoy the Christmas season.

Who else joined the Black Friday madness today?
