Tradition says that children must rake a pile of leaves and jump in them, each and every fall. I’m not one to turn my nose up at traditions so last week the boys and I raked together a pile of leaves and the boys started jumping.
I (of course) had my camera out and ready to capture the fun and before I knew it the boys were begging me to take their picture as they ran and jumped. I was hearing things like “Get this, Mommy” and “This is fun!”. Sweet! And 10 minutes later I had taken over 100 pictures.
Huh. How’d that happen?
Oh yeah… it was fun and my finger just couldn’t not resist the urge to hit the button!
Don’t worry though – I’m not going to make you look at the 100+ pictures I took. How does 15 sound, and in slide show form?
Obviously the boys’ favorites are the action shots, so I thought I better post those too in “still” form.
I just love traditions like these! Not only are we creating awesome memories for the boys, but it brings back fantastic memories from my own childhood (especially raking the leaves at my grandparent’s house). What’s one of your favorite traditions that you’re handing down to your children?
My family didn’t have any traditions so I’m making new ones for my son. Like pumpkin picking and baking goodies with Momma.
Way to go on forging ahead with your own, Zoie! And I bet your son will pass those on to his kids one day 🙂
Awesome shots. I can’t wait to have more leaves on the ground so we can do this!
