It’s noon and I’ve already been up for 8 hours today. Yup. I’ve been up since 4am and yet I’m glad I’ve been up that long. Ok, maybe “glad” isn’t the right word… Proud? Maybe.
Today was the first day of Boot Camp. Lily woke up for a feeding at 4am and by the time I was done with her it was time to get dressed and head out the door. Oh my. I’m not feeling too terribly tired yet, but ask me at dinner time how I feel!
Boot Camp was tough. I knew it would be! It was dark, cold and windy outside. Seriously windy! That wind wasn’t so bad when it was at my back, but sprinting into it definitely added an element of fun to the morning. Let’s just sum up the morning by saying that about 10 minutes into it I realized just how out of shape I am. My legs were burning. My lungs were burning. My arms were burning. My abs were burning. Did I mention I’m out of shape? I will say this though, doing ab work while looking up at the sky as dawn is just breaking was pretty cool!
As painful and tiring as the experience was (and I’m sure I’ll really be feeling it tomorrow), I’m already looking forward to Wednesday morning. I’m also excited about the results I hope to see!
Speaking of results, here’s where I stand as of 4 weeks into WW and getting back into exercise:
Down 2.4 pounds
Lost 2 and 1/4 inches overall
So while I’m not thrilled with the weight loss, at least it’s something. I really had hoped to average 1 pound a week and I’m averaging only half a pound. I was pleasantly surprised though to see I’ve lost some inches in the last few weeks! I’m really curious to see what happens with a month of Boot Camp under my belt.
Getting back into Weight Watchers has really helped my focus on healthy eating again. The other day I had a delicious and filling snack – it was so good I had it again this morning after Boot Camp! Greek yogurt with fresh cut strawberries. Mmmmmm!
Yesterday I tried on some jeans at Target and it was no bueno. I told myself to go easy on myself and I’ll try some on again after Boot Camp is over. Here’s hoping I can buy some pants that actually button by then instead of continuing to wear these depressing maternity pants.
