Saturday Savings

This week I robbed CVS. At least, according to Nick that’s what I did. Last week they sent me an awesome postcard mailer that had two freebie coupons on it. One coupon was for the Schick Hydro Razor and the other was for Schick Hydro Shave Gel – both for free! Well, this week CVS was giving out $5 in ECB’s (Extra Care Bucks) when you bought that razor… I bet you can see where this is going! Yesterday I went to CVS, bought the razor, used my coupon to get it for free ($8.99 price) and bought nothing else so my total due was actually zero, and then $5 in ECB’s printed on my receipt. Woohoo!

Alright, on to the other deals! In addition to my quick stop at CVS yesterday, I also hit up HyVee, Aldi and Price Chopper. Everything you see below cost me $37.23.

Aldi: At Aldi I picked up 2 dozen eggs for .74 a dozen, butter for $2.49, PB & Jelly for $1.39 each and the marshmallows for .89.

HyVee: HyVee had a Thursday-Friday deal on Campbell’s Tomato soup; I picked up 4 cans for only .39 each. I also bought a 3 pound bag of apples for $1.48, Rice Krispies for $1.38 a box after sale and coupon, pretzels for .99 a bag (I bought two) and some cumin for .77. HyVee also has a great deal on General Mills cereals right now if you have some high value coupons on hand (which I did)! For the 6 boxes of cereal I ended up paying $5.17 which works out to .86 a box. But, to make the deal even better, because I bought 6 boxes of cereal I received a coupon at checkout for $6 off my next order! So it’s like I got all that cereal for free and then some.

Price Chopper: At PC I picked up a 10 bar pack of Ivory soap in the clearance bin ($3). Other items that weren’t on sale was the loaf of bread (.99) and 6 oranges for $3 – the amount of sneezing I’ve been doing was concerning me so I decided to up my vitamin C a bit. A couple of deals I did take advantage of was the Old Orchard juice for .99 and the Lunchables for $1 each. I wanted to buy some K-Cups for my Keurig, but the PC I stopped at didn’t have a selection I was impressed with. I may try to stop at a different one later this weekend to see if I can find some I like.

Total Before Sales, Tax and Coupons: $82.23

Total After Sales, Tax and Coupons: $35.34 – 57% off

Katie Mooneyham - I wish we had HyVee! BUT…we do now have Aldi, which we haven’t had for very long and I have to drive 30 minutes to get there. I do, though, because you just can’t beat their prices around here.ReplyCancel
