Summer has officially started for our family! The boys’ finished up their last day of preschool last week and Nick’s schedule is about to get chaotic until mid-July. Yesterday, over lunch, we came up with our Summer Bucket List! We’ve never done a Summer Bucket List before, but when I first heard about them (thanks to The Happy Family Movement) this winter I just knew we had to do one!
This morning I took our list and some scrapbook paper and put each item on its own card. My ultimate vision is to make a Summer Bucket List scrapbook, and  these little cards will go in the book along with pictures I take!
For now though, the cards are all hung up on our wall, in the spot the boys’ school projects usually hangs.
So what’s on the list?
Play Tennis
Sleep Over at Aunt Laura & Uncle Mason’s
Fly a Kite
Make Your Own Sundae Party
Find a new park to visit in Kansas City
Mini-Golf at a course with pretend water (obviously Ty’s suggestion – ha!)
Go to City Market
Bike Ride with the Fellas (The fellas being the boys. Nick just bought a bike at a garage sale this weekend)
Spray Mommy with the Hose (Seems to be a crowd favorite but I’m not so sure about it…)
Make Sidewalk Paint
Go Fishing
Do the Lorikeet Feeding at the Zoo (I’ve resisted this activity due to a bird landing on my head a few years ago)
Swimming at Laura and Mason’s apartment pool
Go Bowling
Camp Out in the Livingroom
Go to a movie
Go to the sprayground
Make treats for some firefighters
Vacation to Maine & Vermont (woohooo! I think we’re all most excited about this one!)
Read a Good Book
See Fireworks
Play in the Crown Center Fountains
Play in the Rain
Make S’mores
Make our own lemonade
Go to the ocean
Feed a Buffalo
Playdate with some school friends
Catch Fireflies
Go to a T-Bones game
Have a picnic
There you have it! 31 items sure to make our summer super fun!

Laura, I have always wanted to go there and I’m hoping it’s in the cards this trip!
There’s an aunt in Maine who is very excited about a certain item on your bucket list!!!!
I made a bucket list last summer, and we’ll definitely do it again this year. I love how you displayed it on the wall, too.
Looks like you’ve got some great things ahead with your sweet family!
Awesome, Mandy! Yes, do one again and make sure you sign up for the prizes at The Happy Family Movement blog!
Super cute idea Helen! I’m definitely doing one now.
LOVE IT. Totally working on our list right now. I do love the seemingly random “Feed a Buffalo” thrown in there. What a great idea to make a to-do list for summer. It’s my favorite time of year and I think this summer will be a tremendously fun age with my boys, 2.5 years old.
[…] degree days have gotten me into the summertime mindset. One of my favorite Moms of Multiples blogs Three Times the Giggles, which is a family with identical triplet boys, pointed me toward The Happy Family Movement Summer […]
Finally got my bucket list up today, and just wanted to say thanks for the link to The Happy Family Movement. I looked around on the site just a tiny bit, but it really looks great.
I see you’re ticking things off your list (although that makes it sound like a chore…not the point! HA!) already! 😉
Happy Memorial Day weekend to you!
