The boys’ love school. Absolutely love it! Their teachers are awesome, they sing fun songs, they have a “Mystery Can” that gets passed around and they have a Mystery Reader each week. This week it was our turn to handle the Mystery Reader details and considering Nick (for once it seems) didn’t have a meeting scheduled, I let him take the first one.
I didn’t make it to the school in time to watch the boys get surprised by Nick (I was wandering a store looking for Lily’s lost bow), but I hear the boys were quite surprised! All of the kids sit in a circle and close their eyes while the Mystery Reader comes into the room and sits down. Then eyes fly open, kids get excited and the Mystery Reader reads a book they brought from home!
Aw, my 4 boys! L-R is Ty, Jackson and Chase, and Nick of course…. and he’s not making a funny face!
The child (or children in this case!) of the Mystery Reader also gets to pick a song to lead the class in, after the story is read. The teachers allowed each of the boys to pick a song yesterday, resulting in the class ending almost 7 minutes late. Ha!
The smiles on the boys’ faces that morning were priceless and I can’t wait until it’s my turn to be the Mystery Reader! We’re also working Aunt Laura onto the schedule, which should really take the boys by surprise.
That is such a fun idea! I am going to give it to our preschool teacher!
CUTE picture!!! WTG Nick for smiling 🙂 I can’t wait to do it! Sounds like a blast!!!
That sounds like so much fun!! What a treat.
What a fun idea! 🙂
That is an awesome idea, I too am going to share this with the teacher that I work with. I love the picture of Nick and the boys, I am sure his momma loves it too.
Cute picture! Such a good one of Nick. (and I think we gave them that book.) 🙂
You did! I’ve already decided I’ll read The Wicked Big Toddlah when I’m the mystery reader – have to continue the Maine tradition 🙂
