Lily’s Half Birthday

6 months ago today it was cold. We’d just had a snow storm and everything was covered in white. (I’m trying to make those of us in the middle the heat wave feel a bit cooler right now – did it work? No? Me either.)

I was also staring at this tiny and nameless face.

6 months ago today, Lily was born. Know what that means? It means it’s time for solids!!

Last night we gave her solids (cereal) for the first time, and she was a little unsure about it.

Clearly we need to purchase a high chair. Lily hates having her chunky thighs squeezed into her Bumbo.

I’d probably hate it too…

The boys got a huge kick out of watching and can’t wait to try to feed her someday.

“Guys, did they do this to you too?”

She got more of it on her face and bib than in her mouth, but I bet she’ll get the hang of it soon.

We then topped her off with her regular bottle, which Chase asked to give her.

I’ll be doing a little 6 month photo session with her today (of course!) and will share those tomorrow!

  • Adorable chunk! I really do like the expression of “did they do this to you”…

I’ve been putting off really thinking about how we are approaching food this time because despite being almost seven months (4.5 adjusted), he’s not showing any signs of readiness and so at his six month appointment they said to plan on trying at around 6 to 6.5 months adjusted. I used Super Baby Food by Ruth somebody as my basis with the older one, but I keep hearing good things about baby-led weaning, but just not sure if we are up to it.

    Here’s to a life of eating!ReplyCancel
