This morning I took Lily to the doctor for her 2 month check-up. Can you believe she’ll be 2 months old on Sunday?! I know I can’t…
Anyway, I was really excited about this appointment because I was dying to see how much weight Lily had gained. I knew she was gaining because she’s been putting our arms to sleep faster than she can fall asleep herself! I knew she was growing in length too because some of her rompers are getting a little short and she can’t straighten her legs all the way in them.
(Drum roll please…..)
In the last 6 weeks (the last time she was weighed), she has gained nearly 4 pounds!
At birth: 7 pounds 10 ounces
At 2 weeks: 7 pounds 12 ounces
At 8 weeks: 11 pounds 8 ounces
Little munchkin has also grown 3.5 inches since birth (all the way up to 22.5 inches long). Definitely growing!
Do you see those cute little chub rolls on her arm? Love them!
So while Lily works on gaining weight, I’m busy trying to lose weight.
After Lily’s appointment and a quick stop at a grocery store, I headed to my weekly Weight Watchers meeting. Last week I was bummed to see I had only lost .4 pounds, especially after being so diligent about measuring food, tracking, etc. This week I tried to use fewer of my weekly points allowance (I had used all of them the first week and only about half this week) and it paid off! I was down 1.6 today, bringing me to 2 pounds lighter than I was 2 weeks ago. Woohoo!
Know what I did? In addition to taking my measurements for tracking inches lost (for those times the weight loss stalls), I also took a before picture. Not just any before picture though… I took a chunking up and chunking down picture! The picture features Lily and me, and I’ll take a new one every month or so. I thought it would be fun to see Lily getting bigger and me (hopefully) getting smaller! Plus, it’s a good reminder every month to get myself into a picture.
In a month or so I’ll take a second picture and post them side by side on here so we can see the differences. This week I’ll continue to work on my food intake and also keep working out. Last week I re-started the Couch to 5K plan and added some weights into my routine, and I plan to keep that up.
