Keeping Cool

It’s hot, hot, hot here in Kansas City. Today’s high is supposed to be 97 and tomorrow is supposed to be 100. Yuck. Makes me wish I could just pack the kids up and head to New England to visit family.

Tuesday night, Nick constructed a little something in about 15 minutes. That little something will keep the boys cool and has added yet another element of fun to our own backyard. Check it out!

Hooray for fun sprinklers!

When the water pressure is too high, it tends to rock back and forth, which can be fun too.

Of course we had to put it over the coaster track too!

Probably my favorite part of these two pictures though is looking at Tyler and Chase’s reactions while they stood on the deck.

Eventually it was discovered this was the favorite way to utilize the new sprinkler.

Love this shot!

Want to build your own super fun sprinkler? Follow the directions on this site: http://cometogetherkids.blogspot.com/2011/06/fun-pvc-sprinkler.html (Nick modified it slightly by making the cross bar a bit longer so that all three boys could go under it together.)

pam - FUN! I wish my boys weren’t afraid of sprinklers and rain. Insert GIANT eye roll here. Maybe we should just build one for me. 😀ReplyCancel

Helen - I think you and George could have quite a bit of fun with it. Plus, it’s useful for watering plants and grass – last night Nick was moving it all over the yard, watering his grass seed!ReplyCancel

RoseAnne - Last night when he saw the picture on FB Dad said you should put it over the coaster! Glad to see great minds think alike. I was thinking of building one for when the grandkids come visit (that could be your kids…) and the rest of the time let it do double duty watering my raised beds.ReplyCancel

Nellie Bragg - How cool is that?!? That is something that our son-in-law would enjoy doing. Maybe even my husband for when
the grandchildren visit. Thanks for sharing! xoxoReplyCancel
