Getting Specific

Yep, the boys are definitely growing up. They’re now telling us what they want to be called…

This handsome guy has been known primarily as “Chasey” for nearly 4 years now. He called himself Chasey, his brothers called him Chasey, Nick and I called him Chasey… except when he was in trouble – then it was just “Chase!”.

A couple of weeks ago Chase informed us he is no longer Chasey, just Chase. And if you slip and call him Chasey (even his brothers!) he will call you out on it. “I used to be Chasey, but now I’m just Chase, Mommy!” So sorry!

Right around the time Chase “changed his name”, this winker did the same. Tyler now wants to be called Ty. Only Ty. We’ve always called him a mix of Tyler and Ty, but now he’s being specific too. “Just Ty, Mommy!” Yes, sir!

And this one… well this one is just trouble! Actually, Jackson doesn’t care what you call him. He’s good with Jackson (which is what most call him) but he also doesn’t mind when Aunt Laura calls him Jack. Sometimes, when he’s feeling lazy, he’ll call himself Jack because it’s shorter to write out. I’d do the same, but “Hel” doesn’t seem like a good idea….

Let this post serve as proof too that my children do not always cooperate for pictures! I figure I’ll let them get it out of their system now and then maybe, just maybe, they’ll cooperate for their 4 year pictures.

You all have always been awesome supporters of our March for Babies team each year, which is why I haven’t mentioned the fact that I’m taking part in the Koman Race for the Cure this coming Sunday, in Kansas City. I decided I would mention it just this one time in case there are readers who want to support the search for a cure for breast cancer and haven’t known where to give. Sara - It is so funny how kids decide what they want to be called, my oldest Payton has told us she wants to be PayTon with the T emphasized, I sometimes would say it more silent and she doesn’t like that, you must hear the T. My youngest Reagan, we call her Reagameister, Reag-o-rama and many things but evidently what she likes best is Reagie because she announced to us and my Mom and Sister that she is Reagie, do not call her anything else or she will correct you!ReplyCancel

RoseAnne - Thanks for the warning – I will be careful to call them by their “right” names when we get there. LOL. I love the pictures just the way they are.ReplyCancel

Brenda B - Could be worse. Mine often tells me his name isn’t Drew (or Andrew) but it’s Rocky Balboa. And no I’m not kidding.

His tumbling teacher yesterday had to write “Rocky” on is award… not Drew.ReplyCancel
