Barefoot Books Giveaway!

Have you ever heard of Barefoot Books? I hadn’t until Shelley (a fellow triplet mom!) approached me about hosting a giveaway! Barefoot Books has some really fun and unique books and toys for children. Shelley sent us copies of Zig Zag Zebra to try out and yesterday I showed them to the boys… Huge hit!

Zig Zag Zebra doesn’t look like your typical activity book, which I think is why the boys loved it so much! The pages aren’t just boring black and white like a normal coloring book – they’re colorful and fun.

The boys loved asking me to read what they were supposed to do on each page. In the picture above, Chase is picking crayons that match the various dot colors at the bottom of the page and then drawing a line straight up from each dot. Not only is he working on matching and color recognition, but he’s working on basic drawing concepts.

One of Jackson’s favorite pages in the book involved following a dashed line around in a spiral, and Tyler liked the page where you color in the sheep and add more grass for them to eat.

These books kept the boys occupied for a solid 45 minutes and that’s really saying something, especially for Jackson who has the attention span of a flea! There are still plenty of activities for them to do in their books, including one involving paint and their finger prints that they are begging to do today.

I would say this book in particular is great for the age 3 to 6 age range. There’s a nice mix of basic activities (like the line drawing) and harder things (like drawing a picture of yourself or adding people to a picture of a house).

Barefoot Books has more than just activity books though. They also have some very cool looking story books! Plus, if you’re looking for a way to supplement your income, you can sell Barefoot Books! Just click on this link to sign up under Shelley.

Shelley has offered my readers a special coupon code, good for 15% off in her store! Just enter SCSHFT at check-out to receive the discount. Thanks, Shelley!
