A Few Favorites

I realized earlier this week that it has now been 2 months since I officially opened up my photography business, Faces You Love. A lot has happened in those two months! What I thought would be a slow start to business, actually was the opposite. 7 Portfolio Building Specials were snapped up within 24 hours of opening and more regularly priced sessions started rolling in. I quickly realized I couldn’t just stick with the blog format for my site, so invested in a photography based site that includes client galleries. Made me feel fancy!

One of the biggest thrills so far? Booking sessions with people I’ve never met before. I am loving me some referrals!

I’m getting a little bit better at balancing home, work and all of my other commitments, which is nice. Last night, I just sat on the couch with Nick and watched TV with him, without the lap top. When we were about halfway through the 10pm news (the time that Nick usually starts to dose off) I grabbed the computer and got to work. He asked what I was doing and I told him I had some editing to do.

Why now?

Because I wanted to be able to just sit with you tonight and not be working.”

He liked that answer!

So I stayed up another 2 hours working on pictures. I’m ok with that though – I’ve always been more of a night owl anyway, plus I’m doing something I love!

Anyway, all that being said, it’s been a while since I shared some of my favorites and I’ve had a lot of sessions lately!

Alright, so maybe that was more than “a few”. I am seriously loving my new “job” though and feel so blessed by the way things are going! I’m sure you saw this coming, but I’ll be giving away a session during the birthday bash that’s coming up in just over a week, so if you live in the Kansas City area be watching for it!
